Trialog training in Hof!
After a long break, two of our new trialogue trainers went to Hof for a workshop in August. The “ElKiS” pool of the same name there invited us for the third time, this time for a training session on the subject of “transition from daycare to school”.
In a multilingual group, not only terms such as "iTintenkiller", but also difficulties in interpreted conversations were exchanged:
What do I do when I am confronted with prejudices as a language mediator? What if parents are not told all of their rights? What if I find myself that a non-German speaking child is being treated unfairly? What if I am overwhelmed as a language mediator?
Finding your own position as a language mediator is always difficult! If the system in which I interpret is also characterized by hierarchies, things get even more complicated. The two trainers put the participants in different roles in order to try out their own limits and possibilities and to strengthen them for the new discussions in schools.
